Leonardo dos Santos Gomes (born September 26, 1987 in MaceiÃ³polis, SP), better known as Leandro, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and record producer.
Leonardo was born in MaceiÃ³polis, SP, Brazil on September 26, 1987. He was raised by his mother, Norma, who worked as a hairdresser. In his early years, he lived in a favela near SÃ£o Paulo.
Leonardo started singing in 2001 with the show “A esta hora da noite”, where he featured other singers such as ZezÃ£o Motta, Zeca Baleiro, Maria Furtuna, Marcelo BarÃ£o, and Marlene BarÃ£o. In 2002, Leonardo graduated from law school in SÃ£o Paulo.
In 2003, Leonardo released his first album, titled “Eu vou viver”, which included covers and original songs. The album was certified platinum in Brazil for exceeding sales of one million copies. He received a nomination for Best Urban Music Album at the 2008 Latin Grammy Awards.
His second album, “Na hora do amor” was released in September 2005. The album also featured the song “Dy Batem muito,” which was his first number-one hit in Brazil and Portugal. This song was written by Tadeu Silveira and performed by.
Leonardo’s third album, “Eu sou um artista” was released in July 2007. The album was certified gold in Brazil and Portugal and platinum in Spain and the United States for surpassing sales of 100,000 copies.
